Job Overview

Barclays is hiring an Engineer Developer to join its Markets Post Trade team. The role involves building, maintaining, and supporting First Line of Control applications and requires coordination with global teams in the US and India. You’ll be contributing to software development, DevOps maturity, and production support during Asia hours.

Key Responsibilities

• Gather functional requirements from business teams and leads (US and India).
• Convert functional requirements into software design and implementation.
• Write efficient and reliable unit and regression test cases.
• Support and troubleshoot production issues in collaboration with the L1 support team.
• Contribute to the DevOps processes for continuous delivery and integration.
• Proactively update stakeholders on development and support status.

Technical Skills Required

• Core Stack: Java 17, Spark, Spring Boot, Microservices, SQL
• Preferred: Kafka, Apache Ignite, React, Cucumber framework
• DevOps Tools: GitLab, Autosys, CI/CD tools
• Practices: Agile (Scrum/Kanban), Unit Testing, Secure Coding

Additional Skills & Preferences

• Ability to collaborate globally with cross-functional teams.
• Good communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Understanding of risk controls, governance, and compliance frameworks.
• Experience working with business operations teams and understanding financial processes.
